KILİS – Representing the international student body of Kilis 7 Aralık University, the TÖMER Football Team delivered a thrilling performance in the latest tournament. Despite a perfect start to their campaign, the team’s journey came to an end following a hard-fought battle in the quarter-finals.
TÖMER entered the tournament as one of the most anticipated teams, quickly living up to the hype. The "International Eagles" displayed exceptional teamwork and technical skill, securing back-to-back victories in their opening matches:
Match 1: With a disciplined defensive line and clinical finishing, TÖMER secured their first 3 points of the tournament.
Match 2: Carrying their momentum forward, the team dominated the pitch to claim a second consecutive win, officially punching their ticket to the knockout stages.
After cruising through the group stage with a 100% win record, TÖMER faced a formidable opponent in the quarter-finals. While the match was characterized by high intensity and a "never-give-up" attitude from the TÖMER players, they ultimately fell short. Despite several close scoring opportunities in the final minutes, the team was unable to equalize, resulting in their elimination.
Despite the disappointment of the exit, TÖMER officials and coaching staff expressed immense pride in the players. They highlighted that the tournament served as a vital platform for cultural exchange and sportsmanship among international students.
