Turkish Teaching Certificate Programme

Teaching Turkish to Foreigners Certificate Programme

The programme aims to develop the competences of educators who will teach Turkish to foreign nationals in Türkiye and abroad. Participants who complete it successfully receive the “Teacher of Turkish to Foreigners” certificate, which is registered in the e-Government (e-Devlet) system.

Duration 80 hours in total: 60 hours of theory, 20 hours of practice (1 lesson hour = 40 minutes)
Format Theory classes online; practice classes face-to-face for those living in Kilis and online for others
Attendance At least 80% attendance is compulsory
Assessment A written exam on the theory classes at the end; the pass mark is 70
Application Online application form announced for each term
Certificate Exam and Evaluation
  • A written exam on the theory content is held at the end of the programme. Only participants meeting the attendance requirement may take it.
  • Lesson plans and teaching practice prepared in the practice classes are evaluated by instructors with an observation form.
  • The pass mark is 70; successful participants receive the “Teacher of Turkish to Foreigners” certificate.

  • Explain the basic principles of the communicative approach in teaching Turkish to foreigners.
  • According to the CEFR, what should a B1 learner be able to do in writing?
  • Design a listening activity on the topic of “shopping” for an A2 class.
  • What methods would you use to teach Turkish vowel harmony to foreign learners? Explain with examples.
Reporting

Attendance records and exam results are reported by the programme coordinator and approved by the Centre Directorate. Certificates are registered in the e-Government system; participant evaluation forms are analysed by the Unit Quality Committee at the end of the programme.
