PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHMENT
The objectives of our Centre are as follows:
To teach Turkish both abroad and within Turkey; to open branches with the aim of promoting Turkey and Turkish culture; to teach Turkish to foreigners, Turkish children living abroad and other interested parties;
To engage in joint educational, teaching, research, practical and publishing activities with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Education, relevant university departments and other public institutions and organisations, within the framework of bilateral agreements concluded by the Government of the Republic of Turkey,
To organise courses for teaching staff and teachers appointed by the Ministry of National Education and relevant ministries to teach Turkish both domestically and abroad; to arrange placements for them, and to prepare informative and guidance publications regarding the country where they will be posted,
To award prizes to academic staff and teachers both domestically and abroad with the aim of encouraging the better teaching of the Turkish language and the finest possible promotion of Turkey and Turkish culture.
AREAS OF WORK
To develop programmes and methods regarding the education and teaching of Turkish as a first language, and to carry out coordinated work with various domestic and international institutions and organisations on this subject,
To organise practical training programmes aimed at providing professional experience for students and graduates of Turkish Language Teaching, Turkish Language and Literature Departments, and similar units at universities,
To conduct research and practical work on language teaching methods, and to organise courses in various languages,
To undertake translations and liaise with public institutions and organisations in this regard,
To organise courses in Turkish.
